La Magnolia is very clean and secure, and has a cute terrace for breakfast. It is located very close to the train station, less than a 10 minute walk, just straight out of station entrance, turn left and at the piazza another left turn, then it's just a few doors away, just before the car park. Although it is located just above a busy street, the double glazed windows made the room quite quiet. I certainly had no problems at all with traffic noise. Carlo is friendly and very helpful - long before we arrived he had emailed me a schedule of the Circumvesuviana train when I asked about train times - it was our first visit to Sorrento. Then, when due to unforeseen circumstances, our arrival was delayed by a day, and we arrived at night, later than our estimated arrival time, he was most accommodating and communicative, and on his cell phone to give us directions to his place. Upon arrival, Carlo gave us a Sorrento booklet containing information maps and bus schedules, and recommendations for places to go for meals. The next morning he arrived with pastries and made orange juice and hot drinks for us. He was also very accommodating with allowing us to leave our things until we were ready to depart from Sorrento. Grazie mille Carlo for a lovely stay. We will definitely stay at your lovely place again the next time we are in Sorrento. Room Tip: This is a bnb so please do not expect 24 hour reception and hotel facilities.
Veramente alto livello, a partire dalla disponibilità e gentilezza del personale, al punto, alla pulizia, al rapporto qualità prezzo.
Nice hotel, wonderful service! La Magnolia rtmtraveler Minneapolis, Minnesota29 lug 2008 This is a charming B&B with a nice, clean room and cute balcony. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the handsome and friendly Carlo who promptly escorted us to our room. We've been corresponding with him through email so we were aware that his English was a bit shaky but he managed. It's a lot easier to communicate face to face with the help of facial expression and hand gesture! :) He was quite helpful throughout our stay and answered questions graciously. The room was pretty spacious with comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The balcony didn't have much of a view other than the property grounds/entrance but it was pretty decent. The location was quite good and we're glad we didn't stay too far from the train station (only about 10 min walk). Despite the location by a busy street, the noise level didn't really bother us. Breakfast was ok and was delivered right to our room. I wish we could sit in the balcony but it was quite cold and the chair was still wet from the rain the night before. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonable and enjoyable stay in a gorgeous city. Sorrento itself is really a gem, even in the rain it's breathtakingly beautiful.
Quiet, Cute, Central La Magnolia Saltlick2 Paris France19 giu 2008 The hotel is tucked into a gated side street, a stone's throw away from the central plaza. We asked for a quiet room and got a room on the ground floor, with a little attached balcony. Rooms were clean, well-maintained and very comfortable. The proprieter was super-hospitable and was very accomodating on a bunch of little things (we were a large group there for a wedding). In the morning you can get breakfast served on the balcony. All in all - we would go back there if we were in Sorrento again.
Fantastic La Magnolia rickysharman Hertfordshire11 apr 2008 set just off the main square behind a private green gate this hotel provided everything we needed. The manager, Carlos was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived at 11pm and he carried our bags to our room and recommended a late bar for good food and drinks - saved us wandering around town in to the unknown. La Magnolia is clean & quiet and set in a small orange and lemon tree grove offering suprisingly private accomodation but only 50 meters from the centre and 5 minute walk to the train station. Tip: we caught a coach from the airport to the train station and then the circumvesuviana line takes you straight in to Sorrento - it's the last stop on the line - either end! Sorrento is a brilliant place and we are now in the process of arranging to go bak next year for our wedding with 70 guests!!!! - we may even stay a La Magnoli such was our great impression of it! - the guests will have to find somewhere else though at it only has 7 rooms!!!! Overall, great place, great hotel, great holiday!!!!
Hospitable and Cute! La Magnolia AlohaNYC Brooklyn, NY12 giu 2008 It was late winter when we arrived, so Sorrento was not as packed as in the summertime, but the citrus was in season, and the town was full of fresh oranges and lemons. Our host was very accommodating, offering us as many homegrown oranges as we could eat, and making us a fantastic continental breakfast of cappuccino, pastries, and freshly squeezed O.J. Our room was clean, comfortable, and had a lot of charm. Overall, it was a great experience at a reasonable price. Exactly the kind of place we hope for when traveling.
