“Nice hotel, wonderful service!”
La Magnolia

This is a charming B&B with a nice, clean room and cute balcony. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the handsome and friendly Carlo who promptly escorted us to our room. We've been corresponding with him through email so we were aware that his English was a bit shaky but he managed. It's a lot easier to communicate face to face with the help of facial expression and hand gesture! :) He was quite helpful throughout our stay and answered questions graciously.

The room was pretty spacious with comfy beds and clean bathrooms. The balcony didn't have much of a view other than the property grounds/entrance but it was pretty decent. The location was quite good and we're glad we didn't stay too far from the train station (only about 10 min walk). Despite the location by a busy street, the noise level didn't really bother us.

Breakfast was ok and was delivered right to our room. I wish we could sit in the balcony but it was quite cold and the chair was still wet from the rain the night before. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, reasonable and enjoyable stay in a gorgeous city. Sorrento itself is really a gem, even in the rain it's breathtakingly beautiful.

bed e breakfast davvero comfortevole e le camere sono ricche di servizi. In questo albergo prevale molto la cortesia e la disponibilità del personale...Il mio voto da 1 a 100 è 110!!!Davvero il massimo...GRAZIE!!!

We have just returned from a brilliant trip to Sorrento and stayed at La Magnolia B&B just off the main square, Piazza Tasso, in Via Caruso. La Magnolia is a very pretty B&B, amazingly quiet hidden behind a green wrought iron gate (you are given your own key) which is sheltered on one side by a high stone wall plus a lovely lemon grove. Our hosts, Carlo and his wife, were very pleasant and helpful, they served a good continental breakfast each morning in your room (no breakfast room).
There are only 7 rooms, 3 of which have a french windows, a small terrace and table and chairs where you can breakfast, but these rooms are at an additional cost i.e.115 Euros extra for the week, otherwise rooms with a skylight only are Standard Rooms. La Magnolia is close to rail and bus stations (bus station behind railway station). Easy to get to Herculaneum and Pompeii. Buses to Positano/Amalfi etc plus Hop on/Hop off Sightseeing bus. Jetfoil service to Capri, Ischia and Napoli from Marina Piccolo (small harbour). We have no hesitation in recommending this B&B and would certainly return.

“Shame we were double booked”
La Magnolia

Having seen all the great reviews, we were really excited about staying here and booked four months in advance. We confirmed the week before we arrived but unfortunately when we turned up, our room was occupied by someone else and we were moved to another B&B which was a lot further away and facing a building site. We had to drag our bag the 1/2 mile down the road to get there (after a long day) as there was no one on hand to give us a lift.

Carlo was really helpful with all the problems we had at the Blurooms (there was no one we could find there to help us with them so we had to go back to the Magnolia) which is why I felt I should give them some credit. It is in a very pretty setting and a perfect location for Sorrento and the surrounding area - it's just a shame we didn't get to stay there!

After a fast trip from Rome to Naples via Eurostar then a junket down the Vesuviana {which can be both entertaining and educational if you're not burdened with luggage} then a pedestrian-dodging excercise between the station and Piazza de Tasso it was a delight to find that La Magnolia is both easily located and nicely appointed.. The friendly Carlo was there to meet us and check us in and showed us to our room. To say we were impressed with the standards is perhaps to understate the case. A cool room on a hot Italian day takes some beating, and this one was not only cool but nicely decorated, well presented and spotelssly clean. The bathroom too, was splendidly equipped and presented. The property itself lies just off the main town square, though far enough away to give an air of seclusion. Sorrento isn't always the quietest place on Earth, but we had no sense of any intrusive noise at all. Protected from the outside world from an electronically locked gate, security isn't an issue either. Carlo himself we found to be a charming soul. We found La Magnolia to be both inexpensive and elegant, quiet while amid the hubub of tourism. If you're looking for somewhere to stay in this Italian resort La Magnolia offers much, and I'd recommend it to even the moist discerning traveler. Thank you, Carlo. A thoroughly pleanant stay.

“Fantastic”
La Magnolia

set just off the main square behind a private green gate this hotel provided everything we needed. The manager, Carlos was fantastic and couldn't have been more helpful. We arrived at 11pm and he carried our bags to our room and recommended a late bar for good food and drinks - saved us wandering around town in to the unknown.

La Magnolia is clean & quiet and set in a small orange and lemon tree grove offering suprisingly private accomodation but only 50 meters from the centre and 5 minute walk to the train station.

Tip: we caught a coach from the airport to the train station and then the circumvesuviana line takes you straight in to Sorrento - it's the last stop on the line - either end!

Sorrento is a brilliant place and we are now in the process of arranging to go bak next year for our wedding with 70 guests!!!! - we may even stay a La Magnoli such was our great impression of it! - the guests will have to find somewhere else though at it only has 7 rooms!!!!

Overall, great place, great hotel, great holiday!!!!
